"The Last Song" Minus Cyrus

What to do on a gloomy Wednesday afternoon when you are done with classes for the day, gotten all your near-future-due work, and have a friend needing to watch a movie to write a review about? Go to the movies! Add to that the opening of a Nicholas Sparks romance-chick-flick and you have yourself a plan: The Last Song at 12:15 with Amanda.
Despite my great dislike for Miley Cyrus' pout and "all-around" (created) fame, I have to admit that I do indeed watch Hannah Montana on a irregular basis. It i my guilty pleasure for those times when I am not in the mood for a movie or a complicated TV series but feel the necessity to watch something. It makes me laugh (sometimes due to stupid acting, but often due to good jokes). Anyways, I was skeptical about liking her as the protagonist for a movie that looked so good in the previews. I was not about to refuse to go (as many of my friends did) due to Cyrus' appearance; still, I would have enjoyed it even more if the actress playing Ronnie would have been somebody else.
Here are some actresses that I believe would have made it a greater movie (despite being written especially for Cyrus):
  • Emma Roberts: even though I am still debating whether her fame should be completely recognized as a personal achievement (lets face it her aunt is one of the greatest actresses of all times...), her quirky and mysterious persona would fill in Ronnie's shoes while still keeping the teen audience excited.
  • Shailene Woodley: she plays a troubled teenager in The Secret Life of The American Teenager, what better opportunity to shows that she can have a normal teen-year-old romance?
  • Dakota Fanning: I admit I am biased towards this young actress, but come on she is a GREAT actress. She has been in all kinds of movies: thrillers, dramas, action-packed, etc.; it would be nice to her in a love story.

As for Liam Hemsworth playing Will, lets just say I am very very jealous of Ms. Cyrus (both in the movie and in real life)

Rain On My Parade

So today was one of the rainiest days I have experienced since moving to Boston. It is safe to say that my umbrella is dead (being the second one this semester) and I must buy a new one ASAP.
On that same note, I must also buy a parka/jacket/poncho; whatever you want to call it. The only thing I own is a cute little trench coat that helps with rain as much a towel will keep you warm during winter (enough at first, but not for long). With that said, I will indeed keep a lookout for cute jackets through Zappos, Patagonia, NorthFace, etc. I am still waiting it out since I am not sure whether I want a fun and colorful parka or a serious and chic trench coat. Any suggestions?
So I have yet to decide (and purchase) my rainy oufit.

In the mean time, I hope you enjoy this video:

Boredom became photoshop

So in my infinite boredom today (no work anymore yields many lazy and seemingly extra hours) I decided to try my hand at some photoshop. The problem is that I feel completely unmotivated to continue something I start and I end up doing tons of things halfway. Although, this Mika picture seems like it could go somewhere.
Lets see if I can update it more, but for now, here it is.

Music Recycling

Alright first of all I have to say I have been soooo bad about blogging all of March. Although, with this post I can now say that there have been 2 posts in March! I know, I know, thats not cool. I promise I will come up with interesting posts more often (especially since I quit my job last week). Lets just say it was very overwhelming and didn't really fit me. Anyways on a happier note, I was introduced by my sister over spring break to a very good DJ group. They remix several songs into one (could you relate them to any of my other fave artists?...) and make very upbeat mashups that are great for listening at anytime.

So with no further ado: Norwegian Recycling

Hope you enjoyed them as much as I do ;)

Modeling Days

It is Fashion Week (or something like it) in Mexico this week. So I have been looking around trying to find videos and pictures of my friends' fashion shows. I have mostly failed at finding recent stuff though, so instead I found some old videos from when my modeling days were happening. I hope you enjoy (and you can recognize me in the videos!)

New Boots!

Wearing my new boots (purchased online due to my ongoing online shopping addiction...) from Lucky Brand.
Paired with a Forever 21 top (also bought online hehe) and my H and M sweater (store bought thankfully). Although I do have to admit that my bag was also bought online through Zappos (only one of the best online stores ever!)
This outfit was from last Tuesday. The day started horribly for some reason, but it all got better after going to my step class. The only problem is that on Thursday, at step class, I sprained my ankle and now I must limp around for a bit.
Also I must blog about my Spring Break trip to Mexico (not your typical spring break though, Mexico is home for me!). So excited about it... I am counting the days down :)
